Parking Updates | Guangzhou’s Huadu District Unveils Its Parking Plan, with Long-Term Vision to Add Tens of Thousands of Parking Spaces! Parking Technology Network · 3 days ago
According to the Huadu District Government of Guangzhou, at the beginning of this year, in accordance with relevant provisions of the Guangzhou Parking Regulations, Huadu prepared the “Huadu District Special Parking Plan” (draft for public comment). The draft indicates that, in the long term, Huadu will optimize on‑site parking allocation, plan 163 public parking facilities with a total of 42,868 parking spaces, and provide 13,271 on‑street parking spaces and 12,744 parking spaces in residential alleys and streets, thereby alleviating the district’s parking shortage. A zoning‑based parking management system has been established. The scope of this special parking plan primarily covers the administrative boundaries of Huadu District, with 2019 as the base year and the near‑term planning horizon set for 2023.

Current Status and Future Prospects of the Domestic Mechanical Parking Equipment Industry!
In 2015, the Chinese parking industry was officially ushered in as its inaugural year. The National Development and Reform Commission and other authorities issued the “Guiding Opinions on Strengthening Urban Parking Infrastructure,” which encouraged the construction of multi‑storey parking structures, underground parking facilities, and mechanized automated parking garages—intensive, space‑efficient parking solutions. The policy also promoted private‑sector participation, calling for broad mobilization of social capital through various mechanisms to invest in urban parking infrastructure and vigorously advancing the PPP model, thereby creating a new impetus for industry growth. As a result, the mechanized automated parking garage sector entered a phase of structural adjustment, with market size reaching RMB 14 billion in 2015 and projected to exceed RMB 40 billion by 2020. 1. Current Industry Status: At present, mechanized automated parking garage technology…

How can you ensure proper control over the installation process of a multi‑storey car park?
In recent years, as the number of vehicles on the road has grown, urban parking shortages have become increasingly severe. Consequently, more and more new construction projects and renovations of older residential communities are opting for multi‑level parking garages, which effectively increase parking capacity and help alleviate parking difficulties. First, it’s essential to select a reputable manufacturer to ensure high‑quality equipment; second, every step of the installation process must be carefully managed to save money, time, and effort. Today, we’ll explain how to carry out multi‑level garage installation properly, focusing on the following key points: Preparing for On‑Site Installation After the parking equipment is manufactured at the factory, certain preparations must be made before it arrives on site. The main contents include…

Tokyo, Japan’s approach to tackling parking shortages is worth emulating!
In light of China’s parking difficulties, might some congestion‑relief strategies employed in other countries—such as Tokyo, Japan—offer useful lessons for us? Today, Tokyo’s population exceeds 13 million, yet its vehicle fleet surpasses 8 million. With nearly every resident owning a car, how has Tokyo managed to address its parking challenges? Japan’s Garage Law explicitly stipulates that before purchasing a vehicle, citizens must provide proof of a designated parking space; registration and license issuance are permitted only after an on‑site police inspection verifies the arrangement. Such designated spaces may be owned or rented, and parking‑space permits are mandatory…

How to choose the right mechanical automated parking system?
As the number of private cars in households continues to rise, urban parking shortages have become increasingly acute. In addressing the challenge of “difficulty in finding parking,” mechanical automated parking structures—boasting advantages such as compact land use, relatively low construction costs, simple operation, and safety and environmental friendliness—have seen widespread adoption and rapid development. However, due to many investors’ limited understanding of this new technology and improper equipment selection, a significant number of completed automated parking facilities suffer from low utilization rates or even remain idle for extended periods. So how should one choose an automated parking system? When selecting the appropriate technology, it is essential to adhere to the principle of suitability, as stipulated in the “Catalogue of Special Equipment” issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation.

What standards should be observed during the design, installation, and construction of automated parking systems?
Multi‑storey automated parking systems, from their site‑specific design to equipment installation, must adhere to a set of established rules and standards. Failure to strictly comply with these standards can shorten the system’s service life and even lead to serious problems. So, what specific standards should be observed during the design and construction phases? 1. Ramp access for multi‑storey automated parking facilities should ideally be located outside the main building. When this is not feasible, ramps may be positioned in the central area, along the sides, or at either end; however, special attention must be paid to the column grid and structural considerations of the main building used for parking. 2. Strict fire‑safety distances must be maintained between the parking facility and surrounding flammable or explosive materials, adjacent buildings, and high‑voltage electrical installations.
