Having trouble finding parking? The Jinhua Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning has introduced a new initiative: it’s the first to adopt high‑standard parking space dimensions and plans to add more than 20,000 new parking spaces!
Parking space dimensions have long been an issue that affects residents’ daily lives yet often goes overlooked. On October 21, the Jinhua Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning publicly released a new set of standards for planned parking spaces in the city, which could significantly alleviate the inconvenience many citizens face when trying to find parking. Our city is taking the lead in adopting higher‑standard parking space dimensions. “In recent years, the standard size for compact cars in underground garages—typically a vertical layout—has generally been no smaller than 5.3 meters long by 2.4 meters wide. However, this dimension is increasingly unable to accommodate newer SUVs and midsize to large sedans. To further enhance parking comfort and convenience for residents, and in line with the Zhejiang provincial standard implemented in 2018, ‘Building Code…’”

Parking is a challenge—how can commercial smart parking systems maximize resource utilization?
Over the past decade, China has witnessed rapid development in the construction of smart parking facilities, achieving a considerable scale and level of sophistication. However, as parking systems continue to expand, issues such as disorganized management, uneven resource allocation, and a lack of standardized services have become increasingly pronounced. At this juncture, it is essential to adopt an “airport‑style” management approach to centrally oversee numerous parking lots, establish uniform service standards, and maximize the efficient utilization of parking resources. Smart parking solutions deliver substantial benefits to businesses by providing unprecedented visibility into available parking spaces. 1. By analyzing parking durations, real-time data on inefficient individual vehicle parking times can help…

Parking Updates | Zhengzhou’s Jinshui District Issues Its First Parking Fine!
The Regulations on the Construction and Management of Parking Lots in Zhengzhou City (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulations”) came into effect on October 1. The Regulations stipulate that commercial parking lots must undergo filing and registration. Nevertheless, some parking lots still fail to comply with this requirement. On October 15, a parking lot in Jinshui District, Zhengzhou, was fined 2,000 yuan for non-compliance—marking the first penalty issued by the Jinshui District Urban Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau since the Regulations took effect. After receiving a notice of rectification and failing to make corrections, the parking lot was subsequently penalized. An enforcement officer from the direct-affiliated detachment of the Jinshui District Urban Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau stated that on September 30, officers had inspected a parking facility operated and managed by Henan Xintian Property Service Co., Ltd.

Examining How Jieshun Tackles Urban Parking Challenges Through Application Cases in Five Major Cities
In today’s China, not every impressive statistic is cause for excitement. According to data from the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, as of June 2019, the country’s private car ownership had reached 198 million vehicles, and 66 cities had more than one million cars each. Behind these staggering figures lies a growing parking shortage, which has become one of the most pressing “pain points” in urban life—alongside issues like the 996 work schedule, soaring housing prices, access to medical care, and educational opportunities. With technological empowerment and commercial innovation, efforts are underway to tackle urban parking challenges. As initiatives such as the “Bright Snow Project” and broader smart‑city and safe‑city developments gain momentum, increasingly sophisticated technologies—including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and big data—are playing an ever‑more pivotal role.
