Huizhou: Ten smart shared parking garages will be put into operation within the year, adding more than 5,000 parking spaces.

According to reports from Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, construction of 10 smart shared parking garages in the urban area is progressing smoothly. All are slated for completion and commissioning within the year, providing a total of 5,429 public parking spaces and helping to alleviate the city’s chronic parking shortage. This year, the city also plans to break ground on 20 additional parking facilities, with 14 already in the site-selection phase.

These ten parking lots are located in the city’s Henan Bank, Binjiang, Maidi, and Jiangbei districts, covering areas where parking shortages are most acute and providing a total of 5,429 public parking spaces. They are expected to become operational sequentially starting in October.

For example, the parking garage at the Citizen Service Center is located near the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and comprises two underground levels and one above-ground level. The main structure is scheduled for completion in October, with a total of 1,500 parking spaces. Another example is the Yanda Interchange South Parking Garage, situated near Yanda Heng’er Road in the Henan’an Subdistrict of the city center, which will offer 400 parking spaces. Installation of vertical‑moving parking equipment has already begun, and track installation for all five bays has been completed. Overall equipment installation is 40% complete, making this facility poised to become the fastest‑to‑commission parking lot among the ten projects slated for this year.
