Jiangning District in Nanjing will build eight large-scale public parking facilities, adding more than 2,000 parking spaces.


 

As Nanjing's “New Urban Center”: As the permanent population of Jiangning District continues to grow year after year, parking resources are becoming increasingly scarce. On November 13, the Jiangning District Urban Management Bureau announced its upcoming parking infrastructure development plan, under which eight new parking lots will be built in the district over the next two years, adding a total of 2,088 parking spaces.

Of the eight parking facilities, Liyuan Parking Lot and Yongsheng Road Parking Lot have been completed and put into operation, offering a total of 472 parking spaces; the Tax Sub-bureau Parking Lot and Central Garden Parking Lot are currently under construction, with 713 spaces in total; Jinbao Decoration City Parking Lot and Tianyuan Jidi Parking Lot are slated to begin construction soon, providing 310 spaces; and the Koning Road P+R Parking Structure and Dongxin South Road Parking Lot have both completed their preliminary design, with 593 spaces available.

Han Zhixiang, director of the Jiangning District Parking Management Office, stated that the number of motor vehicles in Jiangning District is approaching… With 530,000 vehicles and only 319,600 parking spaces, the city is striving to maximize public parking resources by making full use of existing spaces, reserve land, and underutilized corner plots, thereby advancing the development of parking infrastructure. Currently, Jiangning District in Nanjing has established Nanjing Jiangning Parking Industry Development Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of RMB 300 million. Operating under the principle of “government guidance and market-driven management,” the company adopts an enterprise‑based operational model and is responsible for the unified construction and centralized management of public parking facilities across the entire district.
