At the construction site of the multi‑storey parking garage at the north entrance of Yulin City People’s Park, reporters observed a bustling scene: mobile crane trucks were lifting and delivering materials to each floor. According to Manager Luo, the project’s chief, the main structural framework of the 17‑story parking tower is now largely complete; work is underway to install the exterior walls, after which the facility will enter the commissioning phase.

The three-dimensional parking structure project at the north entrance of Yulin Municipal People’s Park is a key public‑benefit initiative in Yulin. Located on the southeast side of South Inner Ring Road, adjacent to the park’s north gate, it is being developed by Yulin Public Parking Lot Investment and Management Co., Ltd., designed by the Yulin Urban–Rural Planning and Design Institute, and constructed by Guangxi Daye Construction Group Co., Ltd. The facility covers a total area of 860.33 square meters, with a total investment of RMB 20 million.

With the economic and social development of Yulin City and the rising level of urbanization, motor vehicles—particularly private cars—have been growing rapidly, making urban static traffic issues increasingly acute. According to preliminary statistics from relevant authorities, more than 100,000 motor vehicles are currently in long-term circulation within Yulin’s urban area. Meanwhile, within the zone inside Yulin’s Second Ring Road, there are fewer than 8,000 designated on‑street parking spaces, and no large public parking facilities exist. This has directly resulted in severe parking shortages, traffic congestion, and widespread disorderly vehicle parking in the city center, causing significant inconvenience for residents and seriously hindering the development of commerce and services in the urban core.

The difficulty of finding parking has become a major bottleneck in Yulin’s urban development. It is imperative to integrate and make full use of existing public spaces, build large-scale parking facilities in the central urban area, and establish a standardized, well-organized management and service system for vehicle parking. To better support the growth of the city’s commerce and service sectors, advance the construction of a civilized city, and effectively alleviate parking challenges in the urban core and at People’s Park, the Yulin Municipal Government has adopted a land‑saving approach by constructing a multi‑storey parking structure at the north entrance of People’s Park.
