To alleviate Shantou’s parking challenges, the “well‑shaft” parking garage in Longhu District is scheduled for full completion by May next year.

The first phase of the well-type underground parking garage project in Longhu District totals Eight parcels of land, located at Xinghu Park, the intersection of Hengshan Road and Zhongshan East Road, the intersection of Hengshan Road and Hanjiang Road, the north gate of Xingzhou Park, and Jintai Garden. 1 In front of the gate, at the northwest corner of Xinghu City on Huangshan Road, at the Huashan South Road Community Sports Park, and at the southwest corner of Oriental Park. Among these locations, Xinghu Park has one floor above ground and a basement. 20 The building has one floor above ground, while the other seven plots are all single-story above ground and underground. 18 Layer.

The first phase of the Longhu District shaft-type underground parking project has a total investment of RMB 263 million. Construction on Xinghu Park commenced in early 2018; work on the green space at the intersection of Hengshan Road and Zhongshan East Road began in April 2019; construction on Jintai Garden, Dongfang Park, and Xingzhou Park started in October 2019; and the Xinghu City site on Huangshan Road, the Sports Park, and the green space at the intersection of Hengshan Road and Hanjiang Road are scheduled to break ground in November 2019. Currently, Xinghu Park has completed diaphragm wall construction, with 30% of the inner lining walls finished; the diaphragm wall for the green space at the Hengshan Road–Zhongshan East Road intersection is 16% complete; Xinghu City has not yet officially broken ground; and fencing and enclosure have been installed at all five remaining sites. Upon completion of all eight plots in the first phase, the project will provide 1,114 parking spaces, meeting the parking needs of residents in 25 residential communities. At present, construction is progressing smoothly, with full completion expected by May 2020.
