The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport that, starting from… Starting July 1, on-street parking spaces on roads of branch‑road grade and above in Shijingshan, Chaoyang, Fengtai, and Haidian districts will all be subject to electronic payment; additionally, certain roads in Yanqing District will also adopt electronic payment ahead of schedule.
This morning, a reporter observed electronic toll‑booth signs already installed along Yupu Road in Fengtai District. A parking attendant explained that video‑recording equipment has not yet been deployed; instead, handheld devices are used to record motorists’ parking durations, and no cash is required for payment.
According to Beijing’s electronic road parking and fee reform, The overall implementation plan has already been finalized this year in Xicheng District, Dongcheng District, and Tongzhou District. Starting in January, electronic payment will be implemented for on-street parking. Beginning July 1, roads classified as branch roads and above in Shijingshan, Chaoyang, Fengtai, and Haidian districts will fully adopt electronic tolling. Meanwhile, certain roads in Yanqing District will also introduce electronic parking fees ahead of schedule. In total, more than 24,000 electronically billed on-street parking spaces have been designated across Shijingshan, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Haidian, and Yanqing districts, covering over 220 roads.
Regarding payment, vehicle owners need to download the Beijing Transportation app. After binding your vehicle to the app, please make your payment. When parking in on-street spaces, citizens are advised not to pay cash to anyone or scan any QR code presented by others for payment. If you encounter any violations, please report them by calling the urban management hotline at 96310 or the relevant district parking management authority’s phone number.
