Parking Updates | Quanzhou has put 30 public parking lots into operation this year.

Recently, data from the Quanzhou Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau show that in 2020, Quanzhou earnestly implemented measures to address infrastructure shortcomings in both urban and rural areas, launching 38 public parking facility projects with a planned annual investment of 223 million yuan. By mid-November, cumulative investment had reached 229 million yuan. Thirty public parking lots—including Puxi Park at Quanzhou North Riverside Park, Maritime Silk Road Park, Shishi Flower Sea Valley, Jinjiang Second Sports Center, and Dehua Tangzhai Mountain Park—have been completed and put into operation, adding a total of 6,009 parking spaces. It is reported that since the beginning of this year, several parks in Quanzhou—including the Maritime Silk Road Park in the Taiwan Business Investment Zone, Shishi Flower Sea Valley Park, Fenglu Mountain Park, and Tangzhai Mountain Park in Dehua County—have added eco-friendly parking facilities, creating an additional 1,656 parking spaces. “In conjunction with the development of ecological green corridors, these initiatives aim to alleviate parking difficulties faced by residents and tourists during spring outings and leisure activities,” said a responsible official from the Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau. The challenge of finding parking at hospitals is a common frustration for many citizens who have visited them. In response to this pressing public concern, since the start of the year, Quanzhou First Hospital’s Chengdong Branch Phase II Ward Building, Quanzhou Infectious Disease Hospital, Guangqian Hospital, and other medical facilities have also introduced multiple new parking projects, adding over 1,000 parking spaces. Additionally, Nan’an has expanded its ground-level public parking lot at the Administrative Service Center by 101 parking spaces, while simultaneously installing photovoltaic carports and charging stations, providing greater convenience for those visiting government offices. Meanwhile, Dehui Plaza in Shishi City has built a self-driving multi-story parking garage on its own vacant land, adding 615 parking spaces and helping ease parking pressure in Shishi’s central urban area. Hui’an County has introduced a smart parking management system, applying information-based, intelligent, and user-friendly solutions to more than 1,000 on-street parking spaces across the urban area. These measures have effectively increased parking space turnover rates and significantly improved residents’ commuting experience. Source: Quanzhou Net
