The main campus of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University offers 1,296 parking spaces, ensuring ample availability and creating a “barrier-free” traffic experience for patients. At 11:00 a.m. on November 28, our reporter visited the hospital’s main campus, which has four entrances—east, south, west, and north. The east gate serves as the entrance to the hospital dormitory area, while patients can access the facility through the west, south, or north gates. To pioneer a new “barrier-free” approach to patient transportation, no guard post has been set up at the south gate. On site, the reporter observed numerous parking spaces. In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s automotive industry and urbanization, the sharp increase in private cars has led to serious challenges such as parking shortages and inadequate parking facilities. As a result, the development of multi‑storey parking garages and their role in addressing these parking difficulties have attracted widespread attention from society. Industry experts believe that, given the limited availability of land resources, expanding conventional surface parking spaces will become increasingly difficult; therefore, constructing and utilizing multi‑storey parking structures is emerging as a mainstream solution to future parking challenges.
