Parking Infrastructure | Shaoxing: The urban parking guidance system has been fully completed and put into operation.

“A total of 138 parking spaces, with 53 remaining.” Yesterday (December 25) at 4 p.m., a reporter observed at the entrance of the Yuecheng District Library in Shaoxing that an electronic display screen was providing real-time updates on the number of available and occupied parking spaces. This allows motorists to check parking availability without entering the lot, making it easier for them to find a spot.

This is a newly installed Level‑3 parking guidance display in Yuecheng District. According to reports, with the completion of all 76 parking guidance screens, the citywide parking guidance system has been fully commissioned. Across the three districts, 100 parking facilities offering more than 30,000 parking spaces have been integrated into the system, enabling citywide, unified “smart parking” and seamless inter‑district connectivity.

Deepening efforts to alleviate urban traffic congestion is one of Shaoxing City’s top ten initiatives for improving people’s livelihoods this year, with a key task being the full-scale deployment of a parking guidance system throughout the city center. This year, Yuecheng District has invested approximately RMB 11.3 million to establish a parking‑guidance service platform, adding 11 secondary‑level guidance displays and 65 tertiary‑level ones. Meanwhile, 29 parking lots in Keqiao District and 20 in Shangyu District have also been integrated into the system. Citizens can simply open the “Shaoxing Traffic Police” WeChat official account and, on the map under the “Micro‑Interaction – Yuecheng Smart Travel” section, access detailed information about these 100 parking facilities, including their exact locations, total number of spaces, and real-time availability. After selecting a specific lot, users are seamlessly redirected to the navigation interface, making it easy to follow the route to their destination.

In recent years, Shaoxing City has steadily intensified its efforts to alleviate traffic congestion through technology. At present, the city has completed an intelligent control platform that encompasses a parking guidance system, a big data center, a key‑area management system, and a traffic signal control system. The platform has been integrated with approximately 4,000 electronic police cameras, 500 checkpoint systems, 76 dynamic message signs, 400 traffic signal controllers, and 200 police‑terminal devices, thereby establishing an integrated management platform for fundamental elements such as people, vehicles, roads, and traffic infrastructure. This enables the fusion of video, signaling, guidance, and data, paving the way for smart traffic management.
