“This parking lot supports ETC.” On November 1, with the installation of ETC signage and vehicles swiftly exiting through the toll booth, the ETC payment system at the Xinchang County Passenger Transport Center parking lot was officially put into operation, making it the province’s first bus station parking lot to enable ETC payments.

The Xinchang County Passenger Transport Center parking lot offers a total of 117 parking spaces, with over a thousand vehicles entering and exiting each day. To expedite vehicle access, the transportation company has completed extensive preparatory work, including approval, installation, and commissioning. Vehicles equipped with ETC payment functionality can now be automatically detected, timed, and charged at the entrance and exit, enabling seamless, fast‑track toll collection without stopping.
“Now, with the export process, there’s no need to stop—everything’s much faster—and it also saves me the hassle of paying with small change and the embarrassment of my phone running out of battery,” said Mr. He, who comes to the passenger transport center every week to pick up and drop off his child.

Using the ETC system to pay parking fees offers more accurate identification, faster traffic flow, and safer payment and settlement. This initiative is another significant step taken by the transportation company to meet the demands of the new era, reduce congestion, and provide greater convenience to the public. It further supports the Passenger Transport Center’s efforts to build a “smart station,” contributes to Xinchang’s development as a “smart city,” and enhances citizens’ sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security when traveling.

Charging Standards for the Parking Lot at Xinchang County Passenger Transport Center
According to a responsible official from the Xinchang County Transportation Bureau, as of the end of October, 31,500 vehicles in Xinchang County had been equipped with ETC, placing the county at the forefront of the city in terms of implementation rate. To expand the ETC application market, public parking facilities in urban areas, tourist attractions, hospitals, and other parking venues in Xinchang County will gradually undergo upgrades to incorporate ETC-based tolling systems.
