Parking Updates | Tianqiao Subdistrict in Beijing’s Xicheng District Implements District-Wide Parking Self-Governance

Parking Updates | Tianqiao Subdistrict in Beijing’s Xicheng District Implements District-Wide Parking Self-Governance

Parking difficulties in the old city have long been a major concern for residents of Xicheng District. Last year, Xicheng District took the lead in implementing district-wide parking self‑management in Desheng Subdistrict. Following a pilot program lasting more than three months, 2,250 parking spaces along 46 streets and alleyways in the Desheng area have now been brought under “on‑street parking self‑management.” This year, this model will be extended to the Tianqiao area, where traditional courtyard houses coexist with apartment buildings. At a press conference held during the seventh session of the 16th Xicheng District People’s Congress, reporters learned that Xicheng plans to divide Tianqiao Subdistrict into three zones—north, central, and south—and, based on residents’ needs, roll out comprehensive parking self‑management across the entire area to address the longstanding challenge of finding parking. “Desheng”

The smart parking market is vast, and the key lies in how to break through.

A significant shortage of parking spaces has emerged as the number of motor vehicles in cities has surged. According to statistics, in the first half of 2019, the national vehicle stock reached 340 million, with cars accounting for 250 million. Meanwhile, smart parking equipment in China is growing rapidly at an annual rate of 30%. Industry reports suggest that, factoring in parking demand, the market for smart parking in China could exceed RMB 300 billion. With such a vast potential, how can parking‑related businesses break through? The primary advantage of smart parking lies in its ability to boost parking space utilization. According to the “2017 China Smart Parking Industry Big Data Report,” more than 90% of cities nationwide…

Optimization Plan for Addressing Parking Challenges in Commercial Complexes!

Optimization Solutions for Alleviating Parking Challenges in Commercial Complexes! Commercial center districts are characterized by high population density and heavy traffic, often resulting in severe road congestion due to excessive vehicle volumes. Consequently, effective vehicle management and congestion reduction have become critical priorities. At the same time, minimizing operational and maintenance costs while addressing parking bottlenecks is an urgent concern. Faced with a steady stream of customer vehicles, how can commercial centers provide drivers with seamless services such as rapid in‑lot parking guidance, real-time parking‑space location queries, shopping‑related parking discounts, and self‑service payment? By thoroughly analyzing the multifaceted functional requirements of commercial parking facilities, Aobo Intelligence, leveraging IoT technology, has proposed…

Within the urban area of Miyun District in Beijing, 39 government agencies, enterprises, and public institutions will stagger their opening hours to allow public access to their internal parking lots.

Parking shortages are a common problem in older residential neighborhoods. According to reports from the Two Sessions in Miyun District, Beijing, 39 government agencies, enterprises, and public institutions within Miyun’s urban area will stagger their opening hours to make their internal parking lots available to the public, prioritizing parking for nearby residents. At night, these facilities can provide 2,832 shared parking spaces across 23 residential communities, helping meet residents’ parking needs. (Photo for illustration—unrelated to the article) Miyun’s old urban district is densely packed, with residential buildings clustered around various institutions. Many of these older neighborhoods, built in the 1980s and 1990s, were never designed with dedicated parking areas. As car ownership continues to rise, parking demand has grown steadily. During the day, vehicles are parked inside institutional compounds…

Nanjing: Tackling the “urban malady” of parking scarcity, with 10 pilot zones already yielding tangible results.

As urban areas continue to expand and the public’s interests and demands become increasingly diverse, “difficulty in finding parking” has emerged as a common challenge in urban governance. In recent years, the municipal government has consistently prioritized addressing this issue as a key component of city‑wide management. Both last year and this year, resolving the parking shortage was designated as a major annual initiative to improve people’s livelihoods, with concerted efforts aimed at tackling this pressing urban problem that garners widespread public attention and concern, and at creating a smoother, more efficient travel environment. According to reports, the Municipal Transportation Bureau, in collaboration with the six central districts, has identified 10 representative areas where parking supply‑demand imbalances are particularly acute, focusing on the old city core, commercial districts, and key locations such as schools, hospitals, and scenic spots.

Behind the Parking Scarcity in Hangzhou’s Meizheng Huayuan Residential Community: How Are China’s Older Neighborhoods Tackling Their Parking Challenges?

Behind the Parking Scarcity in Hangzhou’s Meizheng Huayuan Residential Community: How Are China’s Older Neighborhoods Tackling Their Parking Challenges?

The parking‑space dispute at Meizheng Huayuan in Hangzhou has been ongoing for more than five months. Since the new property management company took over the community in August 2019, tensions over parking have continued to escalate. In this older residential complex, built in 1999, 927 residents are locked in conflict over just over 500 parking spaces; the homeowners’ committee has received a steady stream of complaints, and the local police station has even fielded multiple emergency calls. Under the guidance of community mediation, 30 representatives from all sides formed an ad hoc working group to draft a parking plan, convening almost weekly—but a final solution remains elusive. Such disputes are far from uncommon in Hangzhou. In recent years, according to reports by our newspaper alone, similar conflicts have erupted in Liushui Xiyuan, Zhijie Tanxiang, Jiangcun, and other neighborhoods.
