Examining How Jieshun Tackles Urban Parking Challenges Through Application Cases in Five Major Cities
In today’s China, not every impressive statistic is cause for excitement. According to data from the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, as of June 2019, the country’s private car ownership had reached 198 million vehicles, and 66 cities had more than one million cars each. Behind these staggering figures lies a growing parking shortage, which has become one of the most pressing “pain points” in urban life—alongside issues like the 996 work schedule, soaring housing prices, access to medical care, and educational opportunities. With technological empowerment and commercial innovation, efforts are underway to tackle urban parking challenges. As initiatives such as the “Bright Snow Project” and broader smart‑city and safe‑city developments gain momentum, increasingly sophisticated technologies—including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and big data—are playing an ever‑more pivotal role.

Parking Updates | Phase I on-street parking spaces in Jinjiang’s central urban area have launched smart parking fee collection.
Recently, the Jinjiang Parking Lot Construction Leading Group, the Traffic Police Brigade, and other relevant authorities held a briefing to announce and clarify policies and measures related to parking fee collection. They also reminded the public that, regardless of whether it is a paid or free period, drivers must scan a QR code upon entering a parking space; for stays of five minutes or less, payment must be initiated by scanning the code, with violations subject to penalties for illegal parking. According to officials, Jinjiang City has over 440,000 registered vehicles, yet fewer than half of these have access to designated parking spaces. To effectively alleviate parking difficulties in the central urban area, increase the turnover rate of parking spots, and meet the demand for short-term, temporary parking, Jinjiang has launched a fee‑based management system for public parking spaces in the city center (with an experimental free‑trial period from October 8 to 19).

Jingmen’s Zhongxiang is set to complete its first smart, multi‑level parking facility.
The Zhongxiang City Intelligent Parking Facilities and Social Parking PPP Project—featuring mechanical multi‑level parking systems—is nearing completion and will soon be put into operation, heralding the arrival of an era of smart, multi‑storey parking. According to reports, the facility provides a total of 284 standard parking spaces, including 252 mechanical spaces, with ground‑level areas capable of accommodating small and medium‑sized trucks, as well as 32 surface parking spots. The multi‑level garage comprises seven above‑ground floors: floors 2 through 7 are designated for large passenger cars, while floor 1 can accommodate SUVs. Each tower can hold 18 vehicles per level, totaling 126 spaces per tower, or 252 spaces overall. Each set of equipment is equipped with two lifting mechanisms, eight car‑moving units, and one intelligent control system. The project also includes supporting infrastructure…

Can a multi‑level parking garage park your car automatically? No more worrying about backing into a spot!
Finding a parking spot is, for car owners, an essential skill. Many novice drivers suffer greatly because they can’t locate a space or fail to secure one in time. Sometimes they end up circling endlessly, with the time spent searching for parking even exceeding the drive itself. No wonder road rage seems so common. In response to these persistent parking challenges, tech companies in the parking industry have been hard at work—especially in the field of automated multi‑level parking systems. For a newbie like me, these high‑tech, multi‑storey car parks are truly a godsend. Compared with traditional parking lots, what advantages do multi‑level facilities offer? Multi‑level parking and households…
